While this method isn’t as effective as using dr.fone – Switch to transfer photos to iPhone X, it gets the job done. Using AirDrop isn’t for everyone, and fortunately, if you didn’t have any luck using AirDrop, there is one last method that you can try.

Part 3. Using iTunes to Transfer Photos to iPhone X & iPhone 8

The final method that we’ll be showing you is with iTunes. If AirDrop didn’t work or you run into any issues, then you can use iTunes to transfer photos to iPhone X.

Step #1 – Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your old iPhone using a lightning cable.

Step #2 – After iTunes has loaded, click on the device icon at the top of the program and from the menu on the left, click on “Photos“.


Step #3 – If it isn’t already checked, check the “Sync Photos” box at the top of iTunes and click on “Apply“.

Step #4 – After the sync process has completed, disconnect your old iPhone and instead connect your new iPhone 8 or iPhone X.

Step #5 – Again, click on the device icon at the top of iTunes and select “Photos” from the left panel.

Step #6 – If your iPhone X or iPhone 8 doesn’t sync photos, check the “Sync Photos” box at the top of the program.

Step #7 – Lastly, click on the “Apply” button at the bottom of iTunes and within a few minutes, you will have successfully used iTunes to transfer photos to iPhone X.
